A covert take on the mind- Are you relatable?

This question has been bugging me for a while now. Tell me if you have ever thought about this.

Imagine a situation here. You fail an exam and you know you have to tell your parents- of course. What would you search around for? More students who failed the exam, right? Because then you can simply go and say that it’s not only you, a lot of students failed. Now imagine the opposite. You top an exam and you can’t wait to tell your parents. I don’t think you are going to look around for more toppers. As a matter of fact, if another student does stand the same as you, you are not going to like it. And definitely, you’ll be reluctant to tell your parents that someone else scored the same.

Try to understand the big picture here, this was an extremely small example. But this happens at every stage of life. During all our failed endeavors, we want more people with us. We want it to be relatable. And during all the success, we want to be unique. That I am the only one who could do this. But you don’t wanna be the only one who couldn’t do this. Flighty, huh?

I honestly think it’s kind of hilarious. How our mind trains itself and us to adjust, and cope with situations- very dynamic. Unconsciously, all of us are just trying to feel good about ourselves.

Of course, there is nothing wrong with our brain thinking like this because that’s how it works. But I must say it is something to reflect on.

So, do let me know in the comments below- what’s your take on this? Do you wanna be unique or do you wanna be relatable?

Very thought provoking, I never see it that way before but it’s kind of true. But at the same time it’s also quite disturbing to think that way lol. It’s kind of like when you fail, you also hope someone fail the same as you? 😅 kind of like a crab mentality thing.

Haha, yes I guess it is kind of ugly maybe that our minds think this way, but then again there’s nothing we can do except try to change our own perspective. I am glad that it made you think about this- thank you so much for reading and commenting!

By the way, I’m trying to gather some bloggers to join in on a Blog Directory that I’m creating. This will help bloggers discover new blogs to follow. Would you like to join? If you do, I need to borrow your time to fill up some details about your blog, if that’s alright. 😁It’s all here in this link: https://giganticthoughtbubble.blog/2020/09/04/blog-directory/
